1. Rated Lift Capacity:  pallet forklifts’s rated lift capacity is the maximum weight of cargo permitted to be lifted when the distance between the center of gravity of the load and the front wall of the forks is no greater than the load center distance (CCD). It is expressed in tons (T).

If the center of gravity of the load on the forks exceeds the specified CCD, the lift capacity should be reduced accordingly due to the limitations of the forklift’s longitudinal stability.

2. CCD: The CCD refers to the horizontal distance (T) between the center of gravity of a standard load and the front wall of the vertical section of the forks, expressed in millimeters. For 1T to 4T forklifts, the specified CCD is 500mm.

3. Maximum Lift Height: The maximum lift height is the vertical distance between the upper surface of the horizontal section of the forks and the horizontal surface of the forklift, when the forklift is fully loaded and the load is raised to its highest position, on a flat, solid surface.

4. Mast Tilt: The mast tilt refers to the maximum forward or backward tilt of the mast relative to its vertical position when the forklift is unloaded and on a flat, solid surface. The forward tilt angle facilitates the picking up and unloading of cargo; the rearward tilt angle prevents cargo from sliding off the forks when the forklift is operating with cargo. Pallet forklifts typically have a forward tilt angle of 3° to 6°, and a rearward tilt angle of 10° to 12°.

5. Maximum Lifting Speed: The maximum lifting speed of a forklift is typically the maximum speed at which cargo can be lifted when fully loaded, expressed in meters per minute (m/min). Increasing the maximum lifting speed can improve operational efficiency, but lifting at excessive speeds can easily lead to cargo damage and machine damage. The maximum lifting speed of domestic forklifts has been increased to 20 m/min.

6. Maximum Travel Speed: Increasing travel speed significantly impacts the operating efficiency of pallet forklifts. For an internal combustion forklift with a lifting capacity of 1 ton, the minimum travel speed when fully loaded should be no less than 17 m/min.

7. Minimum Turning Radius: When a forklift is unloaded and traveling at low speed with the steering wheel fully engaged, the minimum distances from the outermost and innermost sides of the vehicle body to the center of the turn are called the minimum outer turning radius (Rminouter) and the minimum inner turning radius (rmininer), respectively. The smaller the minimum outer turning radius, the less ground area the forklift requires to turn, and the better its maneuverability.

8. Minimum Ground Clearance: Minimum ground clearance refers to the distance from the lowest fixed point on the vehicle body, excluding the wheels, to the ground. It indicates the forklift’s ability to navigate raised obstacles without collision. The greater the minimum ground clearance, the better the forklift’s maneuverability.

9. Wheelbase and Track: The forklift’s wheelbase is the horizontal distance between the centerlines of the forklift’s front and rear axles. The pallet forklifts is the distance between the centers of the left and right wheels on the same axle. Increasing the wheelbase improves the forklift’s longitudinal stability, but increases the vehicle’s length and minimum turning radius. Increasing the track improves the forklift’s lateral stability, but increases the overall width and minimum turning radius.

10. Minimum Right-Angle Aisle Width: The minimum right-angle aisle width refers to the minimum width of the aisles intersecting at right angles for forklifts to travel back and forth. Expressed in mm. Generally, the smaller the minimum right-angle aisle width, the better the performance.

11. Minimum Stacking Aisle Width: The minimum stacking aisle width is the minimum width of the aisle during normal forklift operation.
